Health Care Worker Ordered to Pay $10K Restitution for Overbilling

A Texas health care worker was ordered to pay $10,000 restitution for overbilling insurers for time spent on functional capacity examinations, the Division of Workers’ Compensation announced Monday. The Travis County District Court convicted Marcos Ricoy, of Rancho Viejo, and sentenced him to three years' deferred adjudication. The DWC said Ricoy submitted false medical claims to an insurer for more time than services actually taken to perform functional capacity evaluations.
