Gavilon Grain Contests Citations After Two Worker Deaths

A grain-bin operator in Wichita, Kansas, is facing proposed federal penalties of $507,374 after two workers were fatally engulfed in a soybean storage bin. Gavilon Grain LLC was cited June 28 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which also placed the company in its Severe Violator Enforcement Program. Gavilon Grain has contested the citations and will appear before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.
