As many as 6.3 out of every 10,000 full-time employees in California might have carpal tunnel syndrome, according to information the state Department of Public Health posted on its website.
The department used workers’ compensation data to conclude that 139,236 carpal tunnel cases were reported between 2007 and 2014. The study, published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in October, notes that the data was based on “probable and possible cases” of carpal tunnel.
