Senate Committee Passes Trio of Comp Bills

The Hawaii Senate Labor Committee passed bills that would limit physician dispensing of drugs, require doctors to maintain informed consent policies when prescribing opioids and require private health carriers pay for medical treatment when a workers’ compensation claim is disputed. Senate Bill 2660, by Sen. Rosalyn Baker, D-Maui, would require private insurers to pay for treatment workers need when a comp claim is disputed.
