The Louisiana Workforce Commission has announced that the rate of nonfatal occupational injury and illness cases in Louisiana requiring days away from work declined in 2011.The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said Louisiana’s private industry incidence rate dropped to 2.5 per 100 full-time workers in 2011, down from 2.7 in 2010.Louisiana also ranked second lowest in the nation in the 2011 Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses.The bureau said there were an estimated 32,500 private industry nonfatal work-related injuries in the state in 2011, down from 34,800 in 2010.The rate of in...
