North Dakota's workers' compensation agency has released updated medical fee schedules, effective July 1.
For most medical procedures, the reimbursement rate has increased slightly, according to a bulletin from the state Workforce Safety & Insurance agency. For surgeons, the fee for amputation of the lower leg and ankle, current procedural terminology code 27884, for example, will go from $1,136, as set in July 2017, to $1,146.
For skin graft procedures, code 11960, the fee will climb, from $1,859 to $1,898. Repair to the intestines will increase, from $2,792 to $2,839, the schedules show.
Not every procedure sees a pay raise. For repair to the temporal bone of the skull using the Fossa approach, for example, the fee will drop, from $3,551 to $3,502.
For 2018, the conversion factor remains at $69.42 for medical providers.
A fee schedule guideline is also available at the agency website. Officials pointed out that the schedule is not a guarantee of payment but indicates the maximum allowable payment for approved services.
