Doctors in Tennessee may now prepare a medical impairment rating report of an injured worker without physically examining the claimant if the claimant has failed to appear for an examination more than once without good cause, under new rules that took effect last week.
The new rules also increase the fee for an MIR report, to $1,500 for a report completed within 30 days, up from the previous fee of $1,000. The fee is now $1,250 for reports that take 31 to 45 days, and $750 for reports that take 46 to 60 days.
