L&I Says Claimant Operated Bar While Collecting Comp and Social Security Benefits

A Washington man will be arraigned today on charges that he operated a bar while collecting both workers’ compensation and Social Security benefits, the Department of Labor & Industries said Friday. Dennis J. Bennett, 63, of Veradale, is charged with two counts of felony first-degree theft. He is scheduled to appear in Spokane County Superior Court today.
