Study: Drug Spends Drop, but Opioids and Physician Dispensing Remain Concerns

Drug spending in workers' comp has declined 11% over the past six years, but opioids remain a concern and compounds are an emerging threat to the system, according to an annual drug spending report by the CompPharma consortium of pharmacy benefit managers. The 13th annual survey “Prescription Drug Management in Workers’ Compensation” will be officially released Tuesday by CompPharma and its president, Joseph Paduda.
