The death of a worker entangled in an unprotected spindle winder has resulted in $69,000 in proposed fines against PPG Industries Inc. for serious and willful safety violations, the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced.The fatal accident occurred last July at PPG’s Barberton facility, which employs 160 people.
