A doctor in Pinellas County has pleaded guilty to receiving kickbacks, as well as a $72,000 luxury car, for prescribing compounded pain creams that cost between $900 and $21,000 for a one-month supply.
Dr. Anthony Baldizzi, 54, of Largo, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to conspiracy and receiving kickbacks related to a federal health care benefit program. He faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida. A sentencing date has not been set.
