The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries has cited Dollar Tree Stores Inc. for alleged workplace safety violations including blocked emergency exits and boxes stacked dangerously high.
The Virginia-based company was cited for violations at two stores, in Bonney Lake and Kelso, and is facing penalties of $306,000. Dollar Tree has appealed the citation.
L&I said its inspectors found “willful” violations, the most severe type, at the stores, which were knowingly exposing employees to safety hazards.
