Budget Bill Includes $10M Transfer From Work Comp for Paid Family Leave

The New York state Assembly on Thursday passed a budget bill that appropriates $60 million to the State Workers' Compensation Board for system upgrades, but also authorizes the transfer of $10 million from board funds to pay for implementation of paid family leave. Assembly Bill 9005 was the first of eight budget bills that make up the state's spending plan, according to a report by the Oneonta Daily Star.
