Marketer Sues Law Firm for Unpaid Referral Fees

A Southern California man says he was defrauded by a lawyer who represents professional athletes in workers’ compensation cases and who refused to pay a percentage of attorney fees pursuant to a loan agreement. Dennis Hamm on May 1 filed a civil complaint in the Los Angeles County Superior Court accusing Jordan M. Cohen, the Cohen Law Firm and Pro Athlete Law Group for breach of contract and fraud. Hamm says in the complaint that he lent $250,000 to Cohen in June 2008. Cohen signed a promissory note agreeing to repay the full amount of the loan with interest calculated at 6% ...
