Utilization review has undergone a makeover in Tennessee with the aim of making the process more palatable and navigable for doctors and claimants’ attorneys, Bureau of Workers’ Compensation officials say.
Beginning Jan. 29, physicians and injured workers, including their lawyers, can appeal utilization review denials to the BWC’s medical director, Dr. Robert Snyder, who will render a written determination under Rule 0800-02-06-.03(5).
