A Middletown, New York co-owner of a chain of fried chicken takeout restaurants in Greater Boston has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for tax and insurance fraud, and for visa and immigration fraud.
Hazrat Khalid Khan, 58, a Pakistani national, will be subject to deportation proceedings after his prison sentence and must pay $2,343,155 in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service and $27,863 to two insurance companies he defrauded, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts said.
