WCA Not Holding Expedited Lump Sum Hearing Thanksgiving Week

The New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administration said it will not be holding expedited lump sum hearings Tuesday because of the short holiday week for Thanksgiving.

The WCA designates an on-call pro tempore judge to hear stipulated requests for lump sum settlements most Tuesdays, but said it will not offer that service during the holiday week.

Information on the WCA website about “Lump Sum Tuesday” says the walk-in hearings to get approval for settlements will not be held during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks, either.

WCA offices will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving and reopen Nov. 27.
