House Passes Bill to Modify Coverage Responsibility for Work Experience Students

Institutes of higher education in Idaho would not be required to carry workers’ compensation coverage for work experience students who are covered by an employer’s policy, under a bill the state House of Representatives unanimously approved. Under current law, higher education schools are required to carry coverage for work experience students placed in positions outside of the institution, even if the employer has already covered the student through its policy.
