Claims mediator and employee misclassification bird dog Darrick Lee has been named anti-fraud manager for the Louisiana Office of Workers' Compensation Administration.

Lee, a graduate of Southern University Law Center, has been a mediator and a fraud prosecutor for the office, and a member of GAME-ON, the Government Against Misclassified Employees Operational Network task force, which examines companies under suspicion of improperly classifying workers as non-employees or as lower-risk employees, the office announced.

Lee has litigated cases before the Workers’ Compensation Courts and has won judgments against companies that failed to secure worker’s compensation insurance, the statement said.

Lee also has worked as an attorney with the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, where he specialized in equal employment claims and employment law litigation. He also was an attorney with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, where he litigated rate and audit reimbursement cases in administrative courts and Louisiana district courts.
