The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation has promoted its chief of employer services to chief operating officer, the agency announced Tuesday.
Kevin Abrams started at the BWC in 1981 as a staff attorney. He was the agency's assistant director of legal operations from 1988 until 2005.
He served on the Ohio Industrial Commission for six years, hearing appeals of workers' compensation claim decisions.
Abrams attended Amherst College as an undergraduate, studying psychology. He earned his law degree from Ohio State University.
