Former DOT Worker, Out-of-State Nurse Charged with Fraud

A former Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities worker and a nurse in Wisconsin were indicted on a combined 93 counts of workers’ compensation fraud, the Alaska Department of Law announced.Scott A. Groom is a former DOT worker who was injured on the job in 1999. In 2002, he moved to Wisconsin and in 2008, he settled his workers’ compensation claim with the state of Alaska for $201,500 plus future medical benefits.After Groom moved to Wisconsin, the state paid for massage treatments provided by Laurayne K.
