The 3rd District Court of Appeal on Tuesday ruled that the California Insurance Guaranty Association must reimburse the CSAC Excess Insurance Authority for payments it made on two workers’ compensation claims after it exhausted its retention limits under insurance policies it had with a now-defunct excess carrier.
CSAC is an insurance risk-sharing pool for counties and public entities. It claims to be one of the largest pools in the nation, with 323 members and total insured values exceeding $61.6 billion.
