Bill Would Grant Coverage Exemption Certificates to Small Employers

A bill introduced in the Georgia Senate last week would allow employers with fewer than three workers to apply for a certificate of exemption from the state's mandatory coverage law. Sens. Judson Hill, R-Cobb County and Bruce Thompson, R-Cartersville, introduced Senate Bill 338 on Feb. 4. Employers with three or fewer workers are not required to purchase workers' compensation coverage under Georgia Law.
