Claimants' attorney and Iowa State Sen. Nate Boulton, D-Des Moines, has announced he will run for governor in 2018, the Des Moines Register reported.
Boulton, 36, announced his candidacy in a video posted to YouTube early Thursday. He also made a formal announcement in his hometown of Columbus Junction.
Along with other Senate Democrats, Boulton railed against plans to curtail workers' compensation benefits and government workers' collective bargaining rights this session.
