The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation announced Monday that it has increased Medical Fee Guideline conversion factors by 1.5%, starting Jan. 1.
The division updates its fee guidelines annually based on the Medicare Economic Index, which accounts for changes in the prices of goods and services used to deliver physician services. The fee guidelines are based on the reimbursement methodologies, models values and weights used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
For services provided in 2019, the conversion factors are $59.19 for evaluation and management, general medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, radiology, pathology, anesthesia and surgery performed in an office setting; and $74.29 for surgery performed in a facility setting.
