Legislature Approves Bill to Extend Billing Deadline for Emergency Treatment

California lawmakers approved a bill that would allow providers of emergency medical services five extra months to submit their bills. The Senate on Thursday gave its final approval to SB 489, by Sen. Steven Bradford, D-Gardena, which would give providers of emergency medical treatment up to 180 days to submit bills to carriers for services provided on or after Jan. 1.
