Volunteer fire and ambulance workers should be eligible for the same workers' compensation benefits as paid employees, reads a bill introduced this week in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
Sponsored by Sen. Randy Vulakovich, R-Glenshaw, and Sen. Scott Martin, R-Lancaster, the measure would help settle a long-simmering debate about compensation coverage for volunteer first responders.
