Mississippi lawmakers have introduced legislation to appropriate operating funds to the state Workers’ Compensation Commission while a bill to make the commission a self-funded agency is again moving forward.
Sen. Eugene S. Clarke, R-Hollandale, introduced Senate Bill 2965 on Monday. The measure would appropriate $5,176,497 to the commission and authorize 56 full-time positions. That includes $200,000 for the state’s Second injury Fund. Clarke is chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee.
