The Occupational Safety and Health Administration again has cited an Altoona company for overexposing workers to lead and failing to provide respiratory protection.
The agency cited Amerway Inc. on July 1 for three repeat and four serious violations, and one other-than-serious violation.
A March inspection found serious violations because Amerway failed to implement engineering, administrative and work practice controls to minimize lead exposure, institute a medical surveillance program and provide a medical evaluation to employees required to use tight-fitting respirators.
