Simmons Appointed to TMI Board

Former state Rep. Ron Simmons has been appointed to the Texas Mutual Insurance Co. board of directors, the company announced this week. Simmons, a Carrollton financial adviser and chairman of the Retirement Advisors of America, was appointed by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. The governor appoints five of the nine directors of TMI, and policyholders elect four members. Simmons was elected to the Legislature in 2012 but was defeated in November in his bid for a fourth term.
