Mattress Maker Faces $77,000 Fine Following Accident

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a Colorado Springs mattress manufacturer $77,000 after a post-accident inspection identified one serious and one willful violation. OSHA said L&P Springs Manufacturing exposed workers to crushing hazards by not properly guarding a machine that compresses, rolls and wraps innerspring pads.
