The owner of a Long Island restaurant is accused of hiding her ownership and lying about her injuries so she could wrongfully receive $65,692 in workers’ compensation benefits, the state Inspector General’s Office said.
The Nassau County District Attorney indicted Inwood resident Michelle Buggs, 48, on charges of felony insurance fraud, grand larceny, perjury, workers’ compensation fraudulent practices and falsifying business records.
