Injured Police Officer Asks 3rd DCA to Revisit Ruling on Apportionment to Genetic Condition

An injured police officer is asking the 3rd District Court of Appeal to revisit its decision finding that his permanent disability from a neck injury could be apportioned to account for genetics. Last month, the court said Christopher Rice’s employer didn’t bear legal responsibility for the extent to which his disability was caused by a non-industrial pathology.
