Corrections workers who are at risk of contracting infectious diseases because of contact with inmates would have their testing and diagnosis covered by workers' compensation, under a bill introduced in the Ohio legislature.
House Bill 733, sponsored by state Rep. Rick Perales, R-Beavercreek, was assigned this week to the House Insurance Committee. It would extend the coverage, which is now afforded first responders, to corrections officers.
