A Utica orthopedic surgeon has been re-indicted on workers’ compensation fraud charges and now is accused of bilking the system out of more than $50,000.
Dr. Gregory B. Shankman, 70, was charged with second-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny and 21 counts of offering a false instrument for filing, all felonies, for allegedly claiming he was at patient exams when in fact he was near Buffalo, out of state and traveling in Iceland.
