A divided West Virginia Supreme Court overturned the denial of a crane operator's claim for a back injury. Case: Adkins v. SWVA Inc., No. 15-0836, 09/12/2-16, published. Facts: Robert A. Adkins worked as a crane operator. While he was at work in August 2013, his crane malfunctioned, and the operator's cab was jostled. Adkins sought treatment that evening for back pain. The doctor said Adkins had sprains in his knee, leg, back and neck, and the doctor took Adkins off work for one week. Adkins was back to work five days later, and the cab on his crane suddenly fell 5 to 10...
