Colorado’s Division of Workers’ Compensation issued an interpretative bulletin explaining changes to payment rules for medical services that go into effect in 2018.
Starting next year, physician assistants who secure Level 1 accreditation will be paid at 100% of the fee schedule value. Assistants who do not receive the accreditation necessary to qualify as a treating physician will continue to receive the maximum rate of 85% of the fee schedule amount.
