The New Jersey Senate is expected to take a final vote Thursday on legislation that would phase in cost-of-living benefit increases for all workers placed on total and permanent disability for injuries occurring after Dec. 31, 1979.Senate Bill 613, which the Senate approved by a preliminary vote of 26-1 on Dec. 19, would phase in the increases during a three-year period beginning on Jan. 1, 2015.The measure would increase the maximum weekly benefits to current levels and would provide annual adjustments going forward.
