Advisory loss costs for Rhode Island workers' compensation insurers will increase 7.4% in the industrial classes and decrease 3% for classes with significant exposure under the federal Longshore and Harbor Workers Act on Aug. 1, according to a ruling posted on the state Department of Business Regulation website.The National Council on Compensation Insurance in November recommended an 8% hike for the industrial classes and a 2.4% decrease for the longshore classifications, known as F-classes.Any insurer that elects not to adopt the advisory loss costs and proposed loss-cost multipliers, del...
