Governor Nominates Deputy Commissioner for Leadership Role

Gov. Roy Cooper has nominated Industrial Commission Deputy Commissioner Robert Harris to serve a six-year term as commissioner. Harris, 51, has worked at the Industrial Commission since 2003. He was appointed to serve as a deputy commissioner in 2005. Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy from Yale University, and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
