The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Board will discuss the possible hiring of administrative law judges during its meeting Thursday in Salem.
A meeting notice says members of the board are scheduled to discuss judicial hires in accordance with Oregon Revised Statutes 656.724(1).
The statute requires the chairperson of the Workers’ Compensation Board to consult with the full board before hiring administrative judges. It also allows the chairperson, after consulting with the board, to appoint judges to probationary terms of up to 18 months prior to regular employment.
