The California Division of Workers’ Compensation has posted an order adding new drugs to the state's prescription formulary.
The order adds more than two dozen drugs to the formulary list that indicates which medications are designated as “exempt” from prospective utilization review, and which ones are “non-exempt.”
The addition of drugs addressed in the Chronic Pain Guideline and Opioids Guideline of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Practice Guidelines takes effect Oct. 1.
