Two claimants’ attorneys have withdrawn legal challenges to two of Gov. Mary Fallin’s appointments to the Workers’ Compensation Commission.
Oklahoma City attorney Bob Burke said he reconsidered his decision to challenge Megan’s Tilly appointment to the commission after meeting with her and becoming convinced she will be unbiased, the Tulsa World reported.
State law specifies that commissioners must have at least three years of experience in workers’ compensation.
Tilly was a deputy attorney general nominated May 1 to replace Robert Gilliland.
Tulsa claimants’ attorney Cathy Enterline filed suit with the state Supreme Court, challenging Fallin’s appointment of Jordan K. Russell to the commission.
She also withdrew her challenge.
Russell served three legislative sessions as policy director and counsel to former House Speaker Jeff Hickman.
The Senate confirmed both Tilly and Russell on May 12.
