Supreme Court Suspends Attorney Who Admittedly Lied to Clients

The Rhode Island Supreme Court last week suspended a longtime attorney for having provided incompetent representation to an injured worker and other clients. As of Oct. 31, attorney Joseph P. Fingliss is barred from the practice of law in Rhode Island for a period of one year and one day. Fingliss was also licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, although his Massachusetts license was suspended earlier this year following his admission of misconduct to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.
