The families of four security contractors slain in Iraq won a favorable ruling last week from a federal judge who ordered their wrongful-death lawsuit against the employer back to North Carolina state court.
The four worked for Blackwater Security Consulting, which argued in federal court that the company is protected from the lawsuit under the Defense Base Act, the Associated Press reported Monday. The act established workers' compensation insurance for employees of overseas government contractors.
