The chairwoman of Indiana's Second Injury Fund reported that the fund ended the year with $2 million in reserves, in a letter circulated on Friday.
The state collected about $469,000 less than the assessment goal, partially due to the loss of some self-insured companies, Linda Peterson Hamilton wrote.
The fund paid out $5.2 million in indemnity benefits to 308 recipients in 2016 and provided prosthetics to 74 workers, a $1.1 million expense.
"As always, we continue to replace limbs with the 'Chevy' not 'Cadillac' model," Hamilton wrote.
