The South Carolina Supreme Court on Wednesday rebuked a Greenville-based attorney for misconduct related to his handling of a client’s workers’ compensation settlement, as well as two other instances of misconduct.
Stephen Yacobi successfully negotiated settlement of a workers’ compensation case on behalf of a client in November 2012. He prepared a settlement statement for the client, listing gross settlement proceeds of $75,000 and deductions for attorney fees and litigation costs in the amounts of $25,000 and $197.
