The North Carolina Industrial Commission has withdrawn a proposed amendment that would have temporarily increased the fee for compromise settlements, from $400 to $430.
The increase would have been in effect from March 1 of this year to July 1, 2021, at which point it would have reverted to $400.
But “through prudent management of financial resources and the cooperation of the Department of Insurance,” the Industrial Commission reached a point where it did not have to increase the fees, the agency announced.
