L&I Holding Agricultural Safety Conferences Feb. 7 and 28

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 | 0

The Washington state Department of Labor and Industries and the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board are holding two conferences in February focusing on hazards specific to agricultural workers.

The department said the conferences will feature special training on drug recognition in the workplace, irrigation and trenching hazards, ladder safety, pesticide training and community trauma care.

L&I said agriculture is one of the largest industries in the state and has a high injury rate, making tailored safety training beneficial for both workers and employers.

Online registration is $75 per person, or $65 for groups of five or more. The rate is discounted to $35 for students and apprentices. Admission will be $85 at the door.

Registration information for the Feb. 7 conference at the Yakima Convention Center is here.

Registration information for the Feb. 28 conference at the Wenatchee Convention Center is here.
