Senator's Bill Would Help Gulf War Veterans With MS

U.S. Sen. Patty Murray of Washington met this week with Gulf War veterans to discuss a piece of legislation that would make veterans with multiple sclerosis eligible for disability, regardless of how long it takes to diagnose. The VA automatically grants a disability rating to any solider who contracts the disease within seven years of an honorable discharge, the Seattle Times reported. Cases of multiple sclerosis are showing up in Gulf War veterans, some of whom have been plagued by symptoms of fatigue, achiness and muscle-control loss for years.
